Soccer TV Coverage for May 20 – 26 on ESPN2 and FSC

With the 2010 World Cup around the corner and European Leagues all but finished, fans will be treated to a number of interesting friendly matches.

Scores of top European clubs are coming to the US to play/vacation in next few weeks.

Thanks to ESPN2, Deportes and Fox Soccer Channel you can watch some of them.

Lets hope the other MLS teams will do better than New England Revolution did on Wednesday when they got trashed by Portugal’s Benfica Lisbon 4 -0.

In a double header on Tuesday, Chicago Fire lost to Paris St Germain 1 -0 and Red Star Belgrade beat Legia Warsaw also 1 – 0.

Another treat coming on Saturday with Juventus taking on the top team in the Eastern Conference, the New York Red Bulls.

The Seattle Sounders who are struggling so far this season in MLS will host Boca Juniors of Argentina.

The US Men’s National Team will be playing a couple of friendly matches in preparation for the World Cup.

First they will face the Czech Republic in Rentschler Field; East Hartford on May 25 and then on May 29 they are hosting Turkey at Lincoln Financial Field; Philadelphia.

But “the match of the week” has got to be the Champions League final between Bundesliga winner Bayern Munich and Serie A winner Inter Milan.

Two different soccer schools will clash on Saturday evening at Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid. The German precise and highly organized style against Italian defense also known as a “catenaccio.”

Lets hope the beauty of the soccer will prevail.
