Serie A

The title race will go to the final round after both Inter Milan and AS Roma won their matches. Inter came close to losing after Chievo staged a second half comeback, scoring two goals. The same goes for Roma who won in the closing minutes on a penalty kick by Francesco Totti. These two teams are separated by only two points. Inter will travel to Siena, while AS Roma will visit Chievo. Atalanta, Siena and Livorno are relegated to the second division. Serie A standings

Premier League

Chelsea won their first Premier League title since 2006 after finishing one point ahead of Manchester United. In their last match they destroyed Wigan by a score of 8 – 0 with Didier Drogba scoring a hat-trick. Drogba became the League’s leading scorer with 29 goals. Chelsea itself broke a scoring record with 103 goals. Man Utd was shooting for their fourth straight title in a row but despite winning 4 – 0 against Stoke City they ended one point short of the title. Arsenal’s last match of the season also ended in a 4 – 0 victory over Fulham. Tottenham lost to relegated Burnley but secured their spot in the Champions League next season. Liverpool finished their miserable season with only a goalless tie to relegated team Hull City. Portsmouth who is the third team relegated to the second division, ended it’s season with a 1 -0 loss to Everton. Premier League standings

Primera Liga

Real’s 5 – 1 win over Athletic Bilbao secured them a shot at Liga’s title next Sunday. Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 26th goal of the season, while Higuain, Marcelo, Ramos and Benzema added one goal each. It was close for Barcelona who almost lost the lead in the second half against Sevilla.  Sevilla with only 10 men, scored two goals in the second half  coming close to a draw but Barca managed to hold on to their 3 – 2 lead. Real will face Malaga and Barcelona will host Valladolid in the last round. The relegation fight is also interesting with five teams in a run for their survival in Primera Liga. Bundesliga

Bayern Munich became the Bundesliga champion for the 22nd time. In a clash between the first and last team of the League, Bayern prevailed with a 3 – 1 win over Hertha Berlin who was relegated to the second division. Along with them VfL Bochum and Nurnberg are also leaving for the second division . Bayern could possibly score a treble with Champions League and German Cup finals still to come. Schalke 04 finished second closing their season with a goalless tie against Mainz. Third in the standings Werder Bremen who is guaranteed a place in the Champions League preliminary rounds, tied 1 – 1 against Hamburg SV. Bundesliga standings

Ligue 1

Marseille won their first Ligue 1 title since 1992 already on Wednesday, but lost in extra time  3 – 2 to Lille on Saturday night. Lille, second in the standings is in a fight with AJ Auxerre to secure the Champions League spot.  AJ Auxerre was held to a goallless tie against RC Lens. The seven time Ligue 1 champs Lyon kept their CL chances live with a 2 – 2 tie against Valenciennes. The win left them two points behind third AJ Auxerre. MLS

Los Angeles trashed the Seattle Sounders 4 – 0 on Saturday. Today the team announced, they will offer a refund for that match to season ticket holders because of the debacle. Toronto FC also scored four goals in a match against Chicago and former Chicago player Chad Barret scored two of the goals. In only their second loss of the  season, the NY Red Bulls was overpowered by San Jose with four goals. Dead last in the Eastern Conference standings, D.C. continues with sorry results this time losing to FC Dallas 1 – 0. The new expansion team Philadelphia Union lost their fourth match in a row with a 3 – 1 loss to Real Salt Lake. Chivas USA with only three wins out of eight matches lost another one, being beaten 0 – 2 by Houston Dynamo at home.
