Carling Cup

Carling Cup continues on Tuesday with Fourth round matches. Manchester United was literary saved by Tevez from elimination with a 76th minute penalty. With Manchester fielding several youngsters, the team had a hard time penetrating Queen’s stubborn defense.

Arsenal was also trying some of their young-guns, but with  better luck than Man Utd. They beat Wigan by a score of 3-0 without much sweat.

Derby had to work hard at home to overcome Leeds 2-1. Derby took an early lead on goals by Villa and Ellington. Leeds answered back in the 40th minute and had a few chances to equalize.

Wednesday’s action will see a few interesting pairings with clubs from Premier League. For sure one of the good ones will be a meeting between the last Cup winner Tottenham and Liverpool.
