English Premier League Results

A late goal by Nemanja Vidic secured a victory for Man Utd. It was the first game back from suspension for Cristiano Ronaldo. Unfortunately he received a yellow card for one of his silly dives. Coach Alex Ferguson was delighted with the win, but he pointed out the fact that Man Utd is not scoring like they should. Hopefully with a healthy Wayne Rooney and Saha returning, their scoring will improve.

Tottenham 1–Arsenal 3

Tottenham coach Martin Jol captured the essence of the game in one sentence:

“We should have killed them off but we didn’t take our chances.” That tells the whole story. Many chances but only one goal and lost game. Spurs were ahead from the 15th minute and in the second half the Bulgarian striker Berbatov should have doubled Tottenham’s lead. Then in 65th minute Arsenal’s Adebayor tied the game after Fabregas’ free kick. Fabregas himself scored 15 minutes later to put Arsenal into the lead and then Adebayor struck again, making it 3-1 with a beautiful volley into the top corner. Tottenham definitely missed a big opportunity to beat their neighbors for the first time in 17 tries.
