MLS Round up after July 19

The leader of the Eastern Conference, Chicago Fire overcame San Jose with help from their striker Cuauhtemoc Blanco. The Mexican international set up one goal and scored the other one. The loss kept the Earthquake in the last place of their division.

D.C. United beat the Colorado Rapids 3-1 on Saturday. United’s Bryan Namoff scored two goals, one for each side. The first goal in the 14th minute was his own goal, but he redeemed himself in the 56th minute with a header into Colorado’s net. Jaime Moreno and Luciano Emilio scored the other two. It was D.C. first win in the last four matches.

Houston Dynamo came from behind in the dying minutes to tie the match in Toronto.  Dwayne DeRosario opened the score in the 38th minute overcoming goalie Pat Onstad. Houston’s defender Bobby Boswell was the lucky man scoring in the 75th minute.

New England Revolution beat slumping Chivas USA on Sunday. Kheli Dube and Steve Ralston were the scorers. Chivas lost its fourth match in a row.

In the other matches LA Galaxy with David Beckham back in their line up, easily won in New York on Thursday. Columbus Crew recorded their 18th unbeaten match at home by scoring three goals to beat Real Salt Lake.
