UEFA Cup Action is Back After A Long Winter Break

images6.jpg

UEFA Cup is back after two months of winter break and we can look forward to some interesting matches. We’re down to 32 teams competing for the second most coveted trophy in European soccer. There are six former winners and Tottenham’s coach Juande Ramos could make history by winning the EUFA Cup a third straight time.

The biggest favorite of the competition, Bayern Munich is on roll in the Bundesliga and shouldn’t have any trouble with poorly playing Aberdeen.

Germany has the most teams in the Cup, a total of five. Bayer Leverkusen travels to Galatasaray in Turkey in what should be the best of Wednesday’s matches, while Werder Bremen is playing Braga at home.

The English are represented by Everton, Tottenham and Bolton. Only the latter one has a strong opponent, facing Atletico Madrid at home. Tottenham travels to Prague for a meeting with Slavia and Everton should have an easy time in Norway with Brann.

On the Spanish side, Villareal is going to icy Russia to face Zenit St. Petersburg and another Spanish team Getafe meets the Greek giants AEK Athens.

You won’t be able to watch any of these matches in the US, because unfortunately Fox Soccer Channel is not showing any matches till the next round on Feb. 21st.

Results will be posted here as they come in. Check back often.
