Arsenal’s Last Minute Qualifying

Champions League Round – Up

Champions League group stage ended on Wednesday and all the qualifying teams are in.

FC Shakhtar Donetsk, Arsenal FC and AS Roma were the last three teams to qualify.

AS Roma needed a tie against Cluj and they did just that with a 1 – 1 draw.

Arsenal with the help of a controversial penalty beat Partizan Belgrade and secured a spot among the last 16 teams.

Meanwhile the Ukrainian champion Shakthar Donetsk won their Group H and qualified to the knock – out stage for the very first time after a 2 – 0 win against Braga.

Real Madrid without coach Mourinho handily beat French AJ Auxerre.

In “the Group of death” Ajax Amsterdam overcame AC Milan with temporary coach Frank De Boer, but didn’t qualify for last 16.

The first two teams for each of the eight groups qualify for the Champions League knock – out stage.

The third team from each group will enter into the Europa League.
